About this role
The Simulation Technologist role at UT Martin's CHIPS program centers on keeping a healthcare simulation facility operational and ready for training events. You'll manage lab equipment and materials, set up rooms for simulations, handle moulage and bandaging prep, troubleshoot equipment issues, and maintain detailed inventory and maintenance records. The work is hands-on and varied—part technician, part logistics coordinator—requiring you to stay organized across multiple simulation events while keeping detailed documentation of equipment status and operation.
This position suits someone with at least six months of comparable technical or maintenance experience, or equivalent combined education and work background. Healthcare simulation experience is preferred but not required; what matters more is your ability to think critically, troubleshoot quickly, and work independently in a fast-paced environment. You should be comfortable with flexible scheduling, including occasional weekends, evenings, and regional travel to conferences where you'll represent the program.
An Associate's Degree is the minimum education requirement. The role offers a chance to grow within a healthcare simulation program while building professional connections across peer institutions—ideal if you're interested in the intersection of healthcare training and technical operations.
