About this role

Kingsport Dental Clinic, operated by the University of Tennessee at Martin, is seeking a licensed dental assistant to support oral surgical procedures. You'll manage the full clinical workflow—from room setup and instrument sterilization to chairside assistance during surgery, patient counseling, and documentation in the electronic health record. The role also includes taking and processing radiographs, monitoring nitrous oxide administration, maintaining emergency equipment, and managing supply inventory.

This is an entry-level position, but it requires you to hold current Tennessee RDA licensure plus certifications in radiology and nitrous oxide monitoring. You'll need solid computer skills, familiarity with EHR systems, and the ability to communicate clearly with both patients and the surgical team. The position is full-time and based in Kingsport, with occasional evening hours. It's a good fit if you're a newly licensed dental assistant ready to build experience in an oral surgery setting within a university healthcare system.
