The role involves supervising residents and students alongside your direct patient care, making it well-suited for someone who values mentorship and academic medicine.
To qualify, you'll need to be a graduate of an accredited medical school with completed pediatric residency training and current board certification or board eligibility in pediatrics. Prior hospitalist experience is preferred, and pediatric hospital medicine certification is a plus though not required. Memphis itself is the second-largest city in Tennessee with a low cost of living relative to comparable metropolitan areas, established medical and arts districts, and significant recent investment in infrastructure and downtown revitalization.
