About this role
Onsemi is seeking a Senior Technical Marketing Manager in San Jose to lead system architecture for next-generation power electronics, particularly in AC-DC and DC-DC conversion for automotive and industrial applications. This role sits at the intersection of technical strategy and customer engagement, requiring you to define system-level requirements, drive architectural decisions from concept through production, and ensure compliance with functional safety standards like ISO 26262. You'll work across product, design, systems, software, and validation teams while collaborating directly with OEM partners to translate market needs into modular, scalable architectures.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience architecting high-voltage power electronics systems in safety-critical automotive or industrial environments, with strong grounding in electrical and thermal modeling, simulation, and bench testing. Leadership experience managing cross-functional engineering teams is essential, as is the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both internal stakeholders and customers. While functional safety expertise is preferred rather than required, deep knowledge of solid-state switching technologies (SiC, GaN) and OEM collaboration on power conversion solutions would strengthen your candidacy.
This is an in-office position in San Jose with a base salary range of $151,455 to $272,550, plus competitive benefits. The role offers the opportunity to shape product strategy at a company focused on vehicle electrification and industrial automation, with potential to influence industry standards and emerging technologies in power electronics.
