You'll work directly with customers on design reviews, validation, and troubleshooting while supporting their implementation of Onsemi's wide range of power semiconductor solutions, including SiC, GaN, MOSFETs, IGBTs, and related gate drivers and protection products. This role requires you to develop deep, application-focused knowledge of customer power conversion systems and architectures across domains like EV charging, renewable energy, industrial automation, and data-center power.
The position demands substantial hands-on expertise in power electronics design and semiconductor technologies. You'll need at least 8 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (or 6+ years with a Master's), along with proven ability to analyze and troubleshoot power circuits using lab equipment like oscilloscopes and power analyzers. Experience with AC-DC converters, DC-DC topologies, inverters, motor control, or battery management systems is essential. You'll also represent Onsemi in customer meetings and technical workshops, creating presentations and system documentation that communicate both customer needs and product feedback internally.
This is an in-office role based in San Jose with travel required to support customer engagements. The position offers a base salary range of $138,575 to $176,410, depending on location, qualifications, and experience, plus a competitive benefits package.
