About this role
Onsemi is seeking a lead engineer to drive the development and manufacturing scale-up of wide-bandgap semiconductor devices—specifically SiC and GaN power technologies. You would own the full lifecycle from concept through mass production, working across internal teams and external foundry partners to solve complex process and integration challenges. This role blends technical depth with operational leadership: you'll set performance targets around yield, quality, and cost, then influence suppliers and cross-functional teams to hit them while managing the day-to-day demands of foundry partnerships.
The position demands at least 10 years in semiconductor technology development, process integration, or foundry management, with hands-on experience in SiC or GaN processes. You'll need strong grounding in device physics, statistical methods, and yield improvement, plus the ability to juggle multiple priorities and react to shifting business needs. Travel up to 25% domestically and internationally is expected.
This role suits someone with deep power device expertise who thrives in a matrix environment—equally comfortable diving into technical problem-solving and steering organizational strategy around capacity planning and supplier management. If you've spent your career in semiconductor fabs or foundries and want to lead innovation in electrification and industrial power technologies at scale, this is a direct fit.
