About this role

Onsemi's System Validation Engineer role in Limerick involves designing and executing comprehensive validation strategies for power management and semiconductor products across functional, electrical, reliability, and application requirements. You'll move between hands-on laboratory work—characterizing silicon platforms, debugging complex hardware issues, and running electrical tests across varied operating conditions—and systematic test development using Python, LabVIEW, or similar tools. The position requires you to create validation hardware and fixtures, analyze results to identify root causes, and collaborate with Design, Firmware, ATE, and Applications teams to resolve issues and support products through silicon bring-up to market release.

This role demands 8–12 years of semiconductor or power electronics validation experience, a strong foundation in analog and digital circuits, and proficiency with standard lab equipment including oscilloscopes, electronic loads, and logic analyzers. You'll need solid troubleshooting skills, analytical rigor, and the ability to communicate technical findings clearly to both engineering teams and management. Experience with power delivery architectures—multiphase controllers, VRs, PMICs, or POL regulators—and test automation frameworks would be particularly valuable, as would familiarity with functional safety standards or FPGA-based validation.

The role is full-time and in-office in Limerick, suited to someone who thrives in hands-on technical work within a structured validation environment and enjoys working across global cross-functional teams on products serving automotive, industrial, and infrastructure markets.
