About this role
Onsemi's Applications Engineer role in Limerick centers on the technical foundation and customer success of advanced multiphase power controllers for computing applications. You would own the full lifecycle of design-in support—from creating evaluation boards and device software to producing datasheets, application notes, and technical seminars. This means working directly with customers through site visits and training sessions, troubleshooting real-world implementation challenges, and feeding insights back into product development cycles.
The position demands at least five years in power electronics design, with a solid electrical engineering foundation (BSc minimum). You'll need hands-on proficiency in simulation and design tools like Simplis, Mathcad, Orcad, and Allegro, and FPGA or software development experience is a meaningful advantage. Strong debugging skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly—both in writing and in person—are non-negotiable, as is a willingness to travel roughly a quarter of the time to support global customers and field teams.
This is a full-time, in-office role suited to someone who thrives at the intersection of product engineering and customer engagement, with the technical depth to lead bench testing and the interpersonal skills to influence cross-departmental product initiatives.
