About this role

Emerson is seeking a Software Engineering Intern to join its Houston office on a full-time, in-person basis. The company is a global automation and software leader serving critical industries including life sciences, energy, and advanced manufacturing, so you'd be contributing to work that directly impacts operational sustainability and digital transformation for major enterprises.

This internship is part of Emerson's broader commitment to developing early-career talent through structured programs and mentorship. You'll work within a collaborative, multicultural environment where the company emphasizes innovation, problem-solving, and professional growth. The role offers exposure to real-world software engineering challenges in a company with deep domain expertise and a track record of execution across global operations.

To be eligible, you must be a U.S. citizen or have permanent work authorization already in place—Emerson does not sponsor visas for this position, so applicants on temporary work status (F-1, H-1, L-1, TN, or similar) are not eligible. If you're an undergraduate, recent graduate, or early-career professional looking to build software engineering experience at scale, this could be a solid opportunity to develop skills while working on projects that matter.
