About this role

FDB's software engineering internship puts you at the center of healthcare technology that reaches thousands of hospitals, health plans, and pharmacies across the U.S. You'll rotate through multiple real-world projects spanning web and mobile development, cloud infrastructure, databases, and data science—each one exposing you to different technical domains and giving you genuine responsibility rather than busywork. The work is grounded in making measurable improvements to healthcare outcomes, which means your contributions matter beyond the internship itself.

A key part of how FDB's engineers work is integrating AI coding tools like Claude, Cursor, and ChatGPT into the development process. You'll be expected to use these tools actively in your workflow, so prior hands-on experience with AI assistants—whether in coursework, personal projects, or internships—is strongly preferred and will set you apart. This is a full-time, in-office role in the Carmel, Indiana office.

You'll need to be a Computer Science or Software Engineering major who has completed at least junior year with a 3.4 GPA or higher. FDB offers competitive pay and benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401k matching, and disability coverage. The company has earned Top Workplaces recognition from the Indianapolis Star, reflecting its culture around integrity, teamwork, and creativity.
