About this role
CBIZ is seeking an HCM Sales Consultant to drive new business development in their Kansas City office. This is a full-cycle sales role focused on prospecting and closing net-new clients in the human capital management and payroll space. You'll own the entire process from cold outreach through contract negotiation, working to displace legacy providers and establish new logos. The position requires strong prospecting discipline—cold calling, networking, and digital engagement are core to the job—along with the ability to manage opportunities in CRM systems, track performance metrics, and adapt your approach based on won/lost analysis.
The ideal candidate brings at least three years of B2B HCM and payroll sales experience and a track record of hitting quota. You'll need superior communication skills across all channels, the persistence to thrive under pressure, and an established professional network. A bachelor's degree is preferred, though a high school diploma with relevant industry experience meets the minimum requirement. You should be comfortable traveling as needed and proficient with sales technology.
Beyond new business development, you'll collaborate with implementation and service teams to ensure smooth client onboarding, identify cross-sell opportunities, and provide leadership with market and competitive insights. This is a contract position requiring you to work in-office.
