About this role
You'll lead forensic accounting engagements in family law matters at CBIZ, a major national professional services firm. The role combines technical forensic work—building valuation models, preparing adjusted financial statements, and developing expert witness exhibits—with client management and team leadership. You'll work cases from intake through resolution, coordinate with discovery teams on document reconciliation, and communicate findings to attorneys, courts, and clients. This is a hands-on position that requires both analytical depth and the ability to translate complex financial issues into clear testimony and reports.
The ideal candidate brings at least eight years of public accounting experience, five years in a supervisory capacity, and a current CPA license. Family law forensic accounting experience is preferred but not required; what matters more is your ability to apply accounting principles within the relevant statutory and family codes. You'll need strong project management skills to juggle multiple assignments with competing deadlines, plus the communication ability to work effectively across all organizational levels and with external stakeholders. Travel is expected based on business needs.
This San Diego-based position offers the chance to develop staff and build a client-focused team while maintaining the highest professional standards. It suits someone ready to step into a senior management role with the technical credibility and interpersonal skills to lead complex, high-stakes engagements.
