About this role

BHE Renewables is seeking engineers at multiple levels to optimize reciprocating engine and compressor systems at its Bridgeport facility. The role spans technical depth—engine mapping, emissions compliance, combustion tuning, and compressor design calculations—alongside project leadership. You'll work across Operations, Controls, and external vendors to improve asset performance, reliability, and regulatory standing, with particular focus on clean-burn initiatives and emerging efficiency technologies.

The position demands hands-on diagnostic work using emissions analyzers and advanced monitoring tools, paired with design and engineering judgment. You'll review compression projects, support control-system implementation, and lead capital initiatives from concept through commissioning. Depending on level, you'll grow from applying engineering fundamentals (Engineer I) through mentoring junior staff and serving as a subject matter expert (Sr Engineer II). A four-year ABET degree is required across all levels; experience ranges from entry-level to 8+ years for the most senior track, with PE licensure preferred or required at higher grades.

This is an in-office role in West Virginia with relocation assistance available. It suits engineers with interest in reciprocating machinery, emissions control, or compression systems who want to combine technical problem-solving with operational impact in the energy sector.
