About this role

BHE Renewables is hiring field engineers at multiple levels to support natural gas processing, transmission, and storage operations in Bridgeport, West Virginia. The role spans the full lifecycle of engineering work: developing and maintaining technical standards, managing capital and maintenance projects from planning through commissioning, overseeing regulatory compliance, and providing ongoing technical support to operations and maintenance teams. You would interpret industry codes and regulations (DOT, ASME, API, NACE, NFPA), lead root cause analyses and management of change processes, evaluate new equipment and technologies, and troubleshoot equipment failures in partnership with field personnel.

The position requires a four-year ABET-accredited engineering degree. Entry-level candidates (Engineer I) need 0–2 years of experience; progression moves through Engineer II (3+ years), Sr Engineer (5+ years), and Sr Engineer II (8+ years). Regardless of level, you'll need to read and create technical drawings, prepare cost estimates and project schedules, work comfortably with engineering software and spreadsheets, and communicate clearly both in writing and with diverse teams. Senior roles emphasize leadership, mentoring, and the ability to interpret complex codes and solve difficult technical problems independently.

This is a full-time, in-office role suited to engineers who want hands-on involvement in infrastructure projects, enjoy working across design and operations, and are comfortable with regulatory detail and field-based problem-solving.
