About this role
AAR Corp. is hiring experienced aircraft maintenance technicians for their Oklahoma City operation at Will Rogers World Airport. This Aircraft Mechanic II role suits professionals with at least five years of aviation maintenance experience who are ready to take on intermediate and heavy maintenance tasks with minimal supervision. While an FAA A&P certification is preferred, the company will consider candidates without it if they bring solid mechanical aptitude and relevant maintenance background.
The position runs a full-time, non-exempt schedule of 40 to 50 hours per week across first or second shift, with flexibility valued in scheduling. Day-to-day work involves performing aircraft repairs and troubleshooting according to FAA airworthiness standards, interpreting technical publications and schematics, maintaining compliance records, and using both traditional tools and computer systems. The role demands strong attention to detail, dependability, and the ability to work independently while meeting quality and deadline expectations.
AAR offers competitive pay with step-level progression, comprehensive health and retirement benefits, paid time off, and notably, a paid A&P fast-track program for qualified candidates and a DOL apprenticeship program that veterans can leverage for VA benefits. The work environment is physically demanding—involving lifting, climbing, working at heights, and extended periods in confined spaces—and all candidates must clear DOT screening, background checks, and airport badge qualification before starting.
