Description
Job Description
Accenture Federal Services is looking for a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure supporting the program's mission workloads. You'll build infrastructure-as-code, deploy and maintain containerized environments, and configure networking and security controls, working alongside senior engineers as you grow into greater design ownership.
What You'll Own
- Cloud infrastructure deployment and maintenance across supported environments, including compute, storage, and networking
- Infrastructure-as-code development (Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible) for consistent, repeatable deployments
- Identity, access, and network security configuration across cloud environments
- CI/CD pipeline support and containerized workload deployment (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident response for supported infrastructure
- Security control implementation and STIG compliance checks for owned systems
What You'll Deliver
- Infrastructure delivered as version-controlled, repeatable infrastructure-as-code rather than manual configuration
- Containerized applications deployed and running reliably in supported environments
- Documented infrastructure decisions, runbooks, and operational procedures
- Timely resolution of infrastructure incidents, escalated appropriately when complexity exceeds scope
- Security controls implemented and verified against required baselines
Here's What You Need
- 3 years of experience deploying, managing, or securing applications in a cloud environment (AWS, Azure, or similar) — including infrastructure-as-code (e.g.: Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible), containerization and orchestration (e.g.: Docker, Kubernetes), and scripting for automation (e.g.: Python, Bash, or PowerShell)
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification or higher (Security+, CISSP, CASP, CCNA Security, or equivalent) or DoD 8140 equivalent
Bonus Points If You Have
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or 4+ years of relevant job or military experience in lieu of degree
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack)
- Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Experience with multiple cloud environments, including Oracle or Azure alongside AWS
- Experience integrating AI/ML services into cloud environments
- Familiarity with National Security systems and air-gapped environments
Security Requirements
- Active TS clearance required; SCI preferred

About this role
Accenture Federal Services is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design and operate cloud infrastructure for federal government missions in defense, national security, and related agencies. You'll work hands-on with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and CloudFormation, manage containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes, and implement security controls including STIG compliance. The role involves building repeatable, version-controlled deployments; supporting CI/CD pipelines; and responding to infrastructure incidents—all while working alongside senior engineers who will mentor you into greater design responsibility.
The position requires at least three years of cloud deployment and management experience (AWS, Azure, or equivalent), proficiency with infrastructure automation and scripting, and a bachelor's degree in a related field or four-plus years of relevant military or job experience. You'll need DoD 8140 compliance certification (Security+, CISSP, CASP, or equivalent) and an active Top Secret clearance; SCI eligibility is preferred. Experience with monitoring tools, cloud certifications, multi-cloud environments, or national security systems would strengthen your candidacy.
This is a full-time, in-office role based in Huntsville, Alabama, with a salary range of $103,200 to $196,400 depending on experience and qualifications. Accenture Federal Services emphasizes collaborative culture and professional development through certifications and hands-on training.
