About this role
Thorne's Encapsulation Technician role sits at the center of their manufacturing operation in Summerville, where you'd be responsible for the upkeep and precision calibration of encapsulation equipment that produces their health and wellness products. The position involves daily equipment maintenance—greasing, inspections, and component checks—alongside identifying and troubleshooting quality issues and equipment problems. You'd work closely with maintenance and production teams to keep spare parts organized, perform equipment setups and teardowns, and ensure changeover tooling is ready for production runs.
This is a hands-on, detail-oriented role that requires mechanical aptitude and the ability to work independently while supporting a larger team. You'll need a high school diploma or GED at minimum, with prior manufacturing experience preferred. The position operates on a rotating weekend schedule (Friday through Sunday one week, Thursday through Sunday the next), with shifts running 5:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and you should be prepared for overtime as needed. The salary range is $28–$29 per hour.
This role would suit someone who takes pride in precision work, enjoys troubleshooting equipment problems, and wants to develop deeper technical skills in a manufacturing environment. If you're comfortable with early mornings, weekend schedules, and the responsibility of keeping complex machinery running smoothly, it's a solid entry or mid-level position in production.
