About this role
Stacy Witbeck's Modern Railway Systems subsidiary is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead transit infrastructure work on the east coast, based in Charlotte. You'll oversee signal, communication, OCS, and track construction projects—managing everything from budget and scheduling to field engineering, subcontractor coordination, and stakeholder communication. The role demands someone who can step in with immediate impact, working alongside a seasoned team while driving projects to completion safely, on time, and within budget.
This position requires at least five years in heavy civil, systems, or rail transit project management, with proven ability to read plans, supervise teams, and manage complex workflows. You'll need strong proficiency in Primavera P6 and Bluebeam, solid MS Office skills, and the judgment to make sound decisions under pressure. Experience with document control, RFIs, submittals, cost forecasting, and OSHA compliance is essential. The role involves regular site visits, travel as needed, and close coordination across owners, engineers, government agencies, and internal crews.
The salary range is $120,000 to $160,000 for a full-time, in-office position. This is a local hire—relocation is not available—so you must be based in or willing to relocate at your own expense to the Charlotte area. Additional software experience (Procore, HCSS, HeavyBid, AutoCAD) and bilingual capabilities are valued but not required.
