About this role
Working as a mechanical intern at CannonDesign's Denver office, you'd support licensed engineers on HVAC design projects across educational, healthcare, commercial, and science & technology sectors. Your day-to-day work would involve learning to design ductwork, piping, and controls systems; building and revising Revit/BIM models through different project phases; reviewing shop drawing submittals; and occasionally visiting job sites to assess existing conditions and track construction progress. The role emphasizes both technical skill-building and process improvement—you'll be expected to spot ways to enhance coordination and quality alongside your core design tasks.
The position calls for enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, with Revit MEP experience preferred but not required. Strong communication skills matter here, as you'll be collaborating across a multidisciplinary team and documenting your work clearly. This is a remote-based internship at $24.25 to $28.25 per hour, with benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, flexible scheduling, and a 401k plan. CannonDesign notes the internship has potential to convert to a full-time entry-level role if you meet their qualifications.
