Description
Affect is transforming behavioral health care by combining mobile technology with counseling and medical services, offering 100% virtual treatment. We break down barriers to care, making it more accessible and effective for our members.
Our innovative approach integrates a smartphone app with a dedicated care team to deliver real-time, data-driven treatment for better outcomes and lower costs.
About the Role:
As a PMHNP at Affect, you will play a key role in member care alongside a team of counselors, therapists and case managers. You’ll provide evidence-based treatment for individuals with substance use disorders and mental health disorders.
We do not prescribe controlled substances other than Suboxone for the treatment of Opioid Use Disorder. Affect provides extensive training on evidence-based approaches to treatment, though medication decisions are ultimately made at the provider’s discretion in collaboration with the member. You must hold an active, unrestricted license in Oregon.
We have full-time and part-time opportunities in Oregon!
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial and follow up telehealth evaluations.
- Deliver care for both substance use and mental health conditions.
- Prescribe medications as appropriate and answer member questions.
- Complete documentation in our EHR (Healthie).
- Collaborate with your care team and attend occasional scheduled team meetings.
Requirements:
- Active and verifiable PMHNP license (Medicaid enrollment is a plus) in the state(s) where you practice, as well as your state of residence if it is not Oregon.
- At least 2 years of experience, ideally in addiction or mental health treatment. We will consider relevant previous experience for those with less than 2 years experience as a PMHNP.
- Experience prescribing Suboxone and active DEA registration.
- Willingness to obtain multi-state licensure (cost covered by Affect).
- Empathy for members facing behavioral health challenges.
- Comfort using technology, including EHRs and mobile apps.
Additional Information:
You’ll need a quiet, private office with a reliable internet connection for HIPAA-compliant telehealth visits. The role may include periodic meetings with internal teams; reasonable accommodations are available as needed.

About this role
Affect is seeking a PMHNP to deliver virtual psychiatric care for individuals with substance use and mental health disorders across Oregon. Working part-time from home, you'll conduct telehealth evaluations, prescribe medications (with a focus on Suboxone for opioid use disorder), manage documentation in their EHR, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of counselors, therapists, and case managers. The role emphasizes evidence-based treatment within a technology-enabled care model that integrates a mobile app with clinical services.
You'll need an active, unrestricted Oregon PMHNP license, at least two years of relevant experience (ideally in addiction or mental health), active DEA registration, and experience prescribing Suboxone. Affect will cover the cost of multi-state licensure if you're willing to expand beyond Oregon. The position requires a private, HIPAA-compliant home office with reliable internet and comfort navigating EHRs and mobile platforms. While most work is independent, you'll attend occasional scheduled team meetings.
This is a good fit if you're drawn to mission-driven work in behavioral health, prefer remote flexibility, and want to practice within a structured, evidence-based framework that explicitly does not involve prescribing other controlled substances. Medicaid enrollment is valued but not required.
