About this role

Slifco Electric is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support their operations on a large data center project in the St. Louis area. You'd work within the full project lifecycle—from bidding and estimating through execution and closeout—gaining hands-on experience across cost management, scheduling, documentation, and client coordination. The role involves assisting with bid proposals, contract reviews, submittals, purchase orders, and project administration, while also supporting field execution alongside Project Managers, General Foremen, and Superintendents.

This position suits someone with a bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field who has strong organizational and communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Experience in electrical or industrial construction is preferred but not required; what matters more is your willingness to learn and take initiative in a fast-paced environment. Slifco emphasizes mentorship and a clear advancement path from APM to Project Manager to Senior Project Manager, making this a genuine entry point into construction management rather than a temporary role.

The company specializes in automotive, heavy industrial, and mission-critical electrical work, ranging from small service jobs to multi-million-dollar installations. If you're looking for long-term stability with a growing firm and want direct exposure to large-scale projects while learning from experienced construction leaders, this role offers that foundation.
