About this role
Waggoner Engineering is looking for an experienced account manager to deepen and expand relationships with industrial clients across the Southeast. You'd serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts, learning their operations, capital plans, and technical challenges in depth, then connecting them with Waggoner's engineering and environmental capabilities. The role blends relationship stewardship with business development—you'll develop strategic account plans, identify expansion opportunities, support proposal and negotiation efforts, and represent Waggoner at industry events and conferences.
This position requires seven years of relevant experience in engineering consulting, environmental services, or industrial infrastructure, ideally with direct exposure to industrial clients and their decision-making processes. You'll need a bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, mechanical engineering, or a related field, along with demonstrated success in account planning, business development, and client presentations. Strong communication and negotiation skills are essential, as is the ability to translate technical and business challenges into solutions.
Based out of one of Waggoner's 16 Southeast offices on a hybrid arrangement, this role suits someone who combines relationship-building instincts with enough technical fluency to understand industrial infrastructure needs—water systems, permitting, site development, and similar services. The salary range is $130,000 to $165,000.
