About this role
Weinstein Properties is hiring a maintenance technician for one of several apartment communities in the Richmond area, offering a stable full-time position with a $2,000 sign-on bonus and on-call pay built into the compensation structure. Beyond the base $24/hour rate, you'd earn $150 weekly for on-call availability (regardless of call volume), quarterly performance bonuses up to $980, and benefits including a rent discount, medical/dental/vision coverage, 401(k) matching, and PTO. The work itself spans the full range of residential maintenance—HVAC, electrical, plumbing, appliance repair, and carpentry—across occupied and vacant units, plus grounds and amenity upkeep.
The role requires EPA certification (Type II or Universal) and at least three years of apartment maintenance experience, with demonstrated hands-on HVAC skills and comfort troubleshooting independently. You'll work Monday through Friday, 8am–5pm, with a rotating emergency on-call schedule. The job demands physical capability (lifting 75 lbs, climbing ladders, working outdoors year-round), basic computer literacy for work order systems, and the ability to drive a golf cart. This is a good fit if you're looking for long-term employment at a company that manages its own properties and has a track record of promoting from within, and if you value a structured schedule with predictable on-call compensation rather than sporadic emergency calls.
