About this role
Teamfight Tactics is expanding its mobile presence, and this Staff Software Engineer role focuses on building and maintaining the game's iOS and Android experiences. You'd work primarily in C++ across Unreal Engine, handling everything from feature development to diagnosing complex issues that span game code, engine internals, and native platform layers. The position sits within a multidisciplinary team and requires both deep technical execution and leadership—you'll influence architectural decisions, drive engineering practices, mentor other engineers, and participate in on-call support.
The role demands at least six years of professional software engineering with substantial native mobile development experience on iOS or Android. You'll need strong C++ skills applied in performance-sensitive contexts, proven ability to debug across application and platform boundaries, and hands-on experience optimizing mobile games for performance, memory, and stability. Experience with Unreal Engine is required; familiarity with TFT itself and deeper expertise in native platform development, engine-level debugging, or mobile build pipelines would strengthen your candidacy.
This is an in-office position in Los Angeles. Success here hinges on technical depth, collaborative instincts, and genuine player empathy when making engineering tradeoffs. Riot offers standard benefits including medical and dental coverage, parental leave, a 401k match, and an open PTO policy.
