About this role

Latitude AI, a Ford subsidiary developing autonomous driving technology, is hiring a Bench Technician Associate for a 12-month contract role in Detroit. You'll work hands-on with hardware and software components for their ADAS platform, handling installation, upgrades, diagnostics, and end-of-line commissioning of bench fleet systems. The work involves assembling and repairing wiring harnesses from schematics, validating signal paths and network functionality across platforms, documenting configurations and diagnostics, and managing inventory—often working independently or in small teams while communicating with cross-functional internal and external customers.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED plus two years of work experience, with strong hands-on skills in computer hardware, server rack installation, and wiring systems. You'll need solid written and verbal communication, proficiency with Google suite tools, and the ability to work methodically in a safety-conscious, procedure-driven environment. Experience with automotive control module flashing, CAN bus operation, or networking is a plus but not required. Expect up to 20% travel for training and meetings, and be prepared to work in close quarters for extended periods with minimal supervision.

This contract suits someone with practical technical skills who thrives in a structured, detail-oriented setting and is genuinely interested in automotive technology. An associate or bachelor's degree in engineering technology would strengthen your candidacy, though it's not mandatory.
