About this role

This Senior Designer role at Network Building + Consulting involves producing structural, civil, and fiber engineering drawings for telecommunications projects—new macro and small cell sites, facility modifications, and fiber optic networks. You'll work in AutoCAD and Civil 3D to create accurate, standards-compliant designs in collaboration with engineers, while also handling right-of-way research, utility analysis, and site-specific documentation like traffic control plans. The position requires working in the Philadelphia office weekly and balancing direct design work with indirect responsibilities supporting project management.

Beyond drawing production, you'll mentor junior designers, review their work for quality, and assist your manager with team resource allocation and project assignments. This means developing strong communication across disciplines and building institutional knowledge around client-specific standards, telecommunications equipment, conduit design, and fiber specifications. The role expects you to work autonomously on complex tasks while remaining adaptable as the company expands into new project types.

You'll need at least four years producing engineering drawings, strong AutoCAD and Civil 3D skills, and direct experience with telecommunications or utility site engineering work. A civil or structural engineering degree is preferred. This role suits someone ready to step into both technical leadership and mentorship after establishing core design expertise in the telecom sector.
