PTA’s assist clients in attaining or maintaining optimal physical wellbeing by providing treatment, tests, client education, and appropriate interventions as outlined by a licensed Physical Therapist. Physical Therapist Assistant License required in the state of Hawaii
How You’ll Make an Impact:

Be partnered with an experienced and supportive home health Physical Therapist

Assist clients in attaining or maintaining optimal physical wellbeing by providing treatment, tests, client education and appropriate interventions as delegated by a licensed Physical Therapist

Implement appropriate individualized care plans, including therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance, and other interventions

Educate and instruct clients, family members, and other client representatives, in rehabilitative care and activities necessary to promote the client's health, safety, and independent living

Accurately document observations, interventions, and evaluations pertaining to client care management, utilizing a state-of-the-art touch pad tablet

Qualifications for a BAYADA Physical Therapy Assistants:

Have graduated from a two-year college level program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association, OR
-
Have two years of appropriate experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant and a satisfactory grade on a proficiency exam

Solid computer skills; prior experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred

Locations We’re Hiring: Hilo to Pahoa
Type: Per Diem, potential part-time or full-time
Base Pay, depending upon qualifications and subject to negotiation: $50-$55 per point

About this role
BAYADA Home Health Care is hiring a Physical Therapy Assistant for their Big Island team, based in the Hilo to Pahoa area. This is a part-time position working in clients' homes, where you'll deliver therapeutic interventions under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. Your day-to-day work involves implementing individualized care plans that include therapeutic exercises, gait training, and balance work; educating clients and families on rehabilitation activities; and documenting all observations and interventions on tablet-based electronic medical records.
To qualify, you'll need a Hawaii Physical Therapy Assistant license and either a degree from an APTA-approved two-year program or two years of PTA experience plus a passing proficiency exam. Strong computer skills and prior EMR experience are preferred. BAYADA provides paid training from day one, clinical support around the clock, and partners you with an experienced Physical Therapist, so you won't be working in isolation.
Compensation is $50–$55 per point depending on qualifications, paid weekly, with flexible scheduling.
