About this role
Waymo is seeking a Platform Enablement Manager to shepherd new autonomous vehicle platforms from prototype through large-scale deployment. You'll work across engineering, operations, and external partners—including automotive OEMs and test drivers—to identify and resolve issues, manage hardware maturity, and translate operational needs back into platform design improvements. This is a hands-on role that requires you to move fluidly between technical problem-solving, cross-functional coordination, and stakeholder communication as Waymo scales its autonomous fleet operations.
The ideal candidate brings at least seven years in automotive or transportation development, with deep hands-on experience bringing hardware and platforms to maturity in mission-critical environments. You should have a technical degree (engineering, manufacturing, or automotive) or equivalent practical background, strong systems thinking, and proven ability to navigate complex product development lifecycles from prototype to production. Experience working directly with hardware teams, system engineers, and end users is essential; you'll need to build credibility quickly across diverse groups and communicate clearly to senior stakeholders.
The role is based in San Francisco and remote-eligible, with travel required to OEM facilities, vendor sites, and test environments. The salary range is $159,000–$196,000, plus eligibility for annual bonuses, equity, and company benefits.
