About this role
Assured Guaranty's Global Structured Finance Group is looking for an intern to support their work on credit enhancement across asset-backed securities, commercial real estate, CLOs, and fund finance. You'd work alongside junior and senior professionals on the full origination and underwriting cycle—from deal screening and market research to credit analysis, internal presentations, and client meetings. The role involves synthesizing information from rating agencies and Bloomberg, reviewing transaction documents, and coordinating across departments, giving you exposure to how structured finance transactions actually move from concept through execution.
The ideal candidate is pursuing a degree in finance, economics, accounting, statistics, or a related field and has strong Excel and presentation skills. You'll need to be detail-oriented, self-directed, and comfortable handling multiple projects with minimal supervision while communicating clearly both in writing and verbally. This internship is designed to build your understanding of structured credit asset classes and cash flow analysis—practical skills that matter in the industry.
The position runs June 8 through July 30 in New York City and pays $30–$32 per hour. The firm provides catered meals twice weekly and intern-specific events; if you're relocating from outside the tri-state area, a housing stipend may be available.
