Call Summary Editor

Contract (4 months)

Remote

$25 an hour, 5-20 hours a week

The Call Summary Editor plays a key role in the delivery of IANS' call summary product, in which we record conversations between IANS cybersecurity experts and clients and have AI produce an actionable written summary for the client and our online platform. This role is charged with editing each AI summary to ensure it is clear, correct and completely anonymized - and delivered to the client within our 48-hour SLA. Key success factors include interest in the cybersecurity industry, the ability to research technologies and vendor names to ensure they are presented correctly and the ability to edit summaries for clarity and readability.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Salesforce preferred; knowledge of Microsoft Word required.
  • This is a hands-on editorial role that requires some foundational knowledge of cybersecurity.

About this role

IANS produces call summaries from recorded conversations between its cybersecurity experts and clients, using AI to generate initial drafts that are then refined for delivery. As a Call Summary Editor, you'd be responsible for reviewing each summary to verify accuracy, ensure clarity, check that all client information is properly anonymized, and meet a 48-hour turnaround window. The work involves researching cybersecurity technologies and vendor names to confirm correct presentation, then editing for readability and precision before the summary reaches both the client and IANS's platform.

This is a four-month contract position suited to someone with foundational cybersecurity knowledge who enjoys editorial work and has strong attention to detail. You'll need proficiency in Microsoft Word and familiarity with Salesforce is preferred. The role demands both technical accuracy—verifying that technologies and vendors are named and described correctly—and editorial judgment to make summaries clear and usable for clients unfamiliar with the original conversation.

The position is remote and offers flexible hours between 5 and 20 per week at $25 per hour, making it a good fit for someone seeking part-time contract work in the cybersecurity space.
