About this role

Formlabs is seeking a Field Service Technician to serve as the primary technical contact for customers across North America, supporting the company's 3D printing systems used by organizations like Apple, Tesla, and NASA. This role is heavily travel-based—expect to be on the road 80% or more of the time—and centers on the complete customer lifecycle: installing and commissioning equipment at client sites, conducting hands-on training sessions, performing live product demonstrations, and responding rapidly to equipment failures. You'll manage your own travel logistics independently while maintaining detailed records in Salesforce and hitting ambitious visit targets.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree in a STEM field and has hands-on repair experience, ideally with electromechanical troubleshooting. You'll need a valid passport, the ability to work with minimal supervision while traveling extensively, and the problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve issues in a single visit whenever possible.
