About this role

At Keen Footwear's Portland retail location, you'd manage all daily store operations while leading a small team through hiring, scheduling, coaching, and performance accountability. The role balances people leadership with operational execution—overseeing inventory levels, receiving and pricing processes, visual merchandising standards, and budget management across labor, supplies, and events. You'd also monitor customer feedback across digital platforms and translate corporate goals into actionable daily priorities, adjusting as needed to meet sales targets and service expectations.

This position suits someone with at least seven years of retail experience who thrives in hands-on management. The ideal candidate has strong conflict resolution and mentoring skills, proven ability to develop staff, and the communication and problem-solving capacity to handle both strategic planning and real-time store issues. A bachelor's degree is preferred, though equivalent retail leadership experience can substitute.

The role is full-time, in-person, and based in Portland with no travel required. Salary ranges from $67,300 to $71,100 depending on experience and qualifications. Working for an independently owned, values-driven brand focused on outdoor recreation and community impact may appeal to candidates who want their work aligned with a mission beyond retail operations.
