  • How can we accelerate and increase the benefits of our AI?

To find answers for each customer, Workhelix applies our unmatched expertise in economics, AI, and data science. Renowned AI and Economics thinkers including Andrew Ng, and cofounders Andy McAfee and Erik Brynjolfsson stand proudly behind our mission.

We maintain a culture established on five key principles. For more information on our leadership principles, please visit the careers page of our website.

Role

We're looking for our first dedicated Business Development Representative, supporting a team of four Account Executives. This is an execution-focused role: cold email, cold calling, and outbound prospecting into our Tier 2 and Tier 3 accounts. You'll work closely with Marketing on sequencing and automation and own CRM hygiene across HubSpot and Attio.

As the first person in this seat, there's no existing BDR playbook to inherit. You'll be building your own cadence and operating rhythm from the ground up while staying aligned with how our AEs work.

Key responsibilities

  • Run disciplined, multi-channel outbound (cold call, cold email, LinkedIn) into assigned Tier 2 and Tier 3 accounts.
  • Research accounts and contacts to prioritize the right prospects and develop relevant outreach.
  • Partner with Marketing on outbound sequencing and campaign cadence.
  • Own CRM data hygiene across HubSpot and Attio as a standing habit, not a cleanup task.
  • Qualify and hand off well-briefed meetings to AEs, with the context they need to run an effective first call.
  • Handle objections in live conversations and adjust messaging based on what's working.
  • Track and use your own activity and conversion metrics to improve performance over time.
  • Represent Workhelix's outreach with integrity, avoiding misrepresentation as you scale multi-channel sequences.

What We Value

  • Communication. You communicate clearly, concisely, and persuasively in writing and on calls, adapting your message to the audience.
  • Ownership & Execution. You take responsibility for outcomes, follow through on commitments, and proactively figure out what's next without needing constant direction.
  • Drive & Persistence. You sustain effort and stay resilient through rejection, setbacks, and repetitive work.
  • Learning Agility. You absorb new information, product knowledge, and feedback quickly and apply it to new situations.
  • Intellectual Curiosity & Discovery. You're genuinely curious about customers, companies, and problems, and you ask thoughtful questions instead of just executing a script.
  • Coachability & Adaptability. You seek out feedback, apply it, and adjust quickly as priorities or processes change.
  • Prospecting & Pipeline Generation. You identify and prioritize the right prospects and execute disciplined outreach that generates qualified pipeline.
  • Sales Process & Operational Discipline. You manage activity systematically, keep CRM data accurate, use sales tools effectively, and let metrics guide your prioritization.
  • Technical & Business Acumen. You pick up technical, AI-driven products quickly and connect their capabilities to customer problems and outcomes, without leaning on unnecessary jargon.

What you bring

  • 2-4 years of outbound BDR/SDR experience, ideally in B2B SaaS.
  • A high-activity, high-organization approach, comfortable owning a structured cadence across cold call, email, and LinkedIn.
  • Fluency with CRM tooling - CRM hygiene is a natural habit for you.
  • Comfort operating with ambiguity as the first person in the role, with no existing playbook to lean on.
  • Strong collaboration instincts, especially around handoff quality with AEs, since a well-qualified, well-briefed meeting is as much of the job as booking it.

Nice to have

    • Enterprise or complex-sale exposure, given Workhelix's Fortune 2000 buyer base.
    • Career ambition toward an AE path, since this seat is often a funnel into that role.
    • Experience with Attio and HubSpot (CRM)

What Success Looks Like

First 30 days:

  • Complete onboarding on Workhelix's product, ICP, and value proposition (task-scoring methodology, ROI monitoring suite) well enough to explain it without jargon
  • Get fluent in HubSpot and Attio; audit and clean existing Tier 2/3 account and contact data
  • Shadow AEs on calls to understand what a well-qualified handoff looks like
  • Build initial account and contact lists for assigned Tier 2/3 territory
  • Launch first outbound sequences (cold call, email, LinkedIn) in partnership with Marketing

By 60 days:

  • Running a consistent, disciplined outbound cadence across all three channels
  • CRM hygiene is a steady habit, data stays clean in real time
  • Handling common objections confidently and adjusting messaging based on what's converting
  • Meeting a defined activity target (calls/emails/LinkedIn touches per week)
  • Delivering consistently well-briefed handoffs that AEs rate as high quality
  • Tracking personal conversion metrics and using them to refine prioritization
  • Book first qualified meetings

By 90 days:

  • Fully ramped: Meet a defined activity target numbers that are agreed upon by the BDR and manager
  • Contributing to the emerging BDR playbook; cadence, messaging, and process others could follow
  • Proactively identifying which segments/messages within Tier 2/3 are working best and reallocating effort accordingly
  • Clear line of sight toward AE-path development goals

Base salary 105-140K + Commission + Equity + Health Benefits

What You’ll Get

  • Competitive compensation package and benefits.
  • Chance to learn and collaborate with some of the most famous researchers in the AI and digital economy space: Andrew Ng, Erik Brynjolfsson, Andy McAfee, and Daniel Rock.
  • The unique opportunity to help build a company, culture, and products from the ground up with a team that values healthy working practices.

About this role

Workhelix is building the first dedicated Business Development Representative role on their sales team, and you'd be establishing the playbook from scratch. You'll own outbound prospecting into mid-market and lower-enterprise accounts through cold calling, email, and LinkedIn, working closely with four Account Executives and the Marketing team to build sequencing and keep the CRM clean across HubSpot and Attio. This is an execution-heavy position—the success metric is disciplined activity, qualified pipeline, and well-briefed handoffs to your AEs, not just meetings booked.

The role suits someone with 2-4 years of outbound BDR or SDR experience in B2B SaaS who thrives with structure and ownership. You'll need strong communication skills, genuine curiosity about customers and their problems, and the resilience to sustain high-activity prospecting through rejection. CRM hygiene should feel like a natural habit, not a chore, and you should be comfortable picking up technical product knowledge quickly—in this case, Workhelix's AI ROI measurement platform—and translating it into relevant customer conversations without relying on scripts or jargon.

Because you're the first in this seat with no existing process to inherit, you'll need comfort operating with some ambiguity while staying disciplined about your own metrics and feedback. If you're ambitious about moving into an Account Executive role down the line and you have exposure to enterprise or complex sales cycles, that's a meaningful advantage given Workhelix's Fortune 2000 customer base.
