About this role

Monumental Sports & Entertainment is seeking a part-time Event Engineer to maintain and repair the building systems that keep Capital One Arena running smoothly during events. You'd handle troubleshooting and repairs across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing infrastructure, respond to service emergencies as they arise, and collaborate with other facility staff to support event execution. The role demands both preventive maintenance and quick problem-solving in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where downtime directly affects the guest and staff experience.

This position requires hands-on expertise across multiple trades. You should have solid experience in arena or event facility maintenance, with demonstrated proficiency in plumbing repairs, arena seat repair, carpentry, door repairs, and electrical work. You'll need to be physically capable of lifting 50 pounds regularly, working at heights up to 110 feet, and standing for extended periods. A Universal CFC Certification is required if you work with refrigerants; a DC 3rd class license is preferred but not mandatory.

The role is part-time and seasonal, paying $29 per hour, and requires flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as event schedules demand. This suits someone with facility maintenance background who thrives in event-driven settings and wants to work for a major sports and entertainment organization without a full-time commitment.
