About this role

Point72's Technology team is seeking a Security Operations Specialist to lead threat investigations and incident response for a major global investment firm. You'd own sophisticated cyber investigations from start to finish—analyzing security telemetry and threat intelligence to identify malicious activity, serving as incident commander during high-severity events, and coordinating response across technical and business teams. The role also involves proactive threat hunting, developing threat intelligence reports, and building dashboards and analytics tools that strengthen the firm's detection and response capabilities.

This position requires 10+ years in security operations, intelligence, network forensics, or related disciplines, with deep expertise in financial sector threats and advanced persistent threats. You'll need hands-on proficiency with Splunk, strong log analysis skills, and the ability to synthesize complex data from multiple sources into clear, actionable conclusions. Equally important is your ability to communicate findings to both technical teams and executive leadership, and to partner with developers on security tool enhancements.

Point72 offers a competitive salary of $200,000–$250,000 plus discretionary bonus, along with fully-paid health coverage, parental leave, wellness programs, tuition assistance, and a 401(k) match. The role is based in New York City and requires in-office presence.
