About this role
Leading clinical operations at Aspect Biosystems means owning the end-to-end strategy and execution of global Phase I-III trials for cell therapy programs—from trial design and budget planning through site activation, regulatory submissions, and closeout. You'll report to the Chief Development Officer and work across Clinical Development, Regulatory, Quality, and Supply Chain to translate development plans into operational reality, with particular attention to the specialized logistics that cell therapies demand, including chain-of-custody protocols and cryogenic transport. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll build vendor partnerships, manage CRO relationships, drive international site identification and qualification, and scale the internal Clinical team through hiring and SOP development.
The ideal candidate brings at least eight years of clinical trial experience with four in a leadership capacity, ideally in cell or gene therapy development within early-stage biotech settings. You'll need deep familiarity with ICH-GCP guidelines, regulatory frameworks for advanced therapy medicinal products, multi-center trial management, and the practical complexities of cell therapy logistics. Experience launching first-in-human trials, working with surgical routes of administration, and managing complex budgets and vendor negotiations is essential. Beyond credentials, Aspect is looking for someone who thrives in ambiguity, works with urgency, and brings both strategic thinking and a willingness to roll up your sleeves in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
The role is based in Vancouver or Fremont and offers a salary range of $185,000–$270,000 annually, plus equity and comprehensive benefits. The company is open to above-range offers for candidates who exceed requirements.
