About this role
Velofi is looking for a Low Voltage Field Technician to install, test, and maintain the infrastructure that keeps multifamily and commercial properties connected and secure. You'll work across multiple job sites in the Orlando area, handling everything from structured cabling (Cat5e/Cat6/fiber) and network equipment to security cameras, access control systems, and VoIP phones. The role demands hands-on technical skill—terminating cables, running connectivity tests, troubleshooting hardware failures, and ensuring every installation meets company standards before you leave the property.
This position suits someone with at least two years of low-voltage or telecommunications experience who is comfortable reading construction drawings, working independently in the field, and problem-solving on the fly. You'll need solid knowledge of fiber-optic cabling, GPON/XGS-PON networks, IP-based security systems, and basic networking concepts like PoE and DHCP. The work is physically demanding: climbing ladders, lifting up to 50 pounds, crawling through tight spaces, and traveling regularly between sites. You'll also coordinate with property managers, contractors, and internal teams, and handle documentation and asset tracking carefully.
If you thrive in fast-paced field environments, have a valid driver's license, and want hands-on technical work across diverse systems, this role offers variety and the chance to be part of infrastructure projects that directly impact how properties operate.
