ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Under the supervision of the DevOps Manager, this employee will collaborate with other scrum team members to develop and implement DevOps culture across the project team.
- Additional responsibility will include activities to install, configure, and maintain all tools needed to accomplish all the following DevSecOps functions -- source control management, continuous integration, deployment, monitoring, database management, repository management, provisioning, release management, logging, building, testing, containerization, and security.
- This individual should have experience in leading a team of DevOps engineers and should have experience in serving as a point of escalation.
- This individual should have experience in deploying RedHat operating system patches using AWS automation tools such as AWS System Manager Automation documents.
- This individual should have experience in implementing CICD (Continuous integration Continuous deployment) tools.
- This individual should have worked with several source control management tools such as, GitHub, Git, Bitbucket, GitLab, Subversion, Mercurial etc.
- This individual should have worked with several continuous integration tools such as, Jenkins, Bamboo, Travis CI, Cruise Control etc.
- This individual should have worked with several monitoring tools such as, New relic, Kibana, Elasticsearch, Nagios, Dynatrace etc.
- This individual should have worked with several repository management tools such as, Nexus, Npm, Docker Hub, Artifactory etc.
- This individual should have worked with several provisioning tools such as, CloudFormation, Ansible, Salt, terraform, etc.
- This individual should have worked with several logging tools such as, Splunk, Logstash etc.
- This individual should have worked with several collaboration tools such as, Jira, Slack etc.
- This individual should have worked with several security tools such as, Fortify, Tripwire etc.
- Possess strong judgment, leadership, communication, diplomacy, collaboration, and organization skills
- Ability to identify and solve technical problems independently, quickly, and efficiently
- Ability to combine strong functional, conceptual, and technical knowledge with a strong understanding of customer requirements to offer solutions in a very practical, timely, and efficient manner
- Ability to interact positively and communicate appropriately with team members, customers, and management
- This individual should have supported applications on AWS cloud and should be familiar with AWS services such as, Elastic Load Balancers, S3, Elastic File Share, EC2, VPC etc.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- 7 to 10 years of experience as a System Administrator.
- Experience in building / deploying infrastructure in AWS Cloud.
- Must have working experience with Jenkins, Terraform, Datadog.
- Extensive experience with Kunernetes and running workloads on Kubernetes EKS.
- Experience in building automative CI/CD deployment pipelines.
- Experience in Linux System Administration.
- Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
- Candidates must have lived in the United States 3 out of the past 5 years
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Technical experience: 7 -10 years
- AWS certifications, DevOps certifications
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree

About this role
Sparksoft is seeking a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to lead infrastructure automation and security practices for government clients. Reporting to the DevOps Manager, you'll guide a team of DevOps engineers while owning the full spectrum of DevSecOps tooling—from source control and CI/CD pipelines through containerization, monitoring, and security scanning. You'll work within Agile scrum teams to embed DevOps culture across projects and serve as a technical escalation point for complex infrastructure challenges.
This role demands 7 to 10 years as a systems administrator with deep hands-on experience deploying and managing AWS infrastructure, particularly Kubernetes EKS workloads. You must have proven expertise with Jenkins, Terraform, and Datadog, along with demonstrated success building automated CI/CD pipelines and managing Linux systems at scale. Experience across multiple tools in each category—source control (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket), CI platforms (Jenkins, Bamboo), monitoring solutions (New Relic, Kibana, Dynatrace), and provisioning frameworks (CloudFormation, Ansible, Terraform)—is expected. You'll also need strong leadership and communication skills, the ability to troubleshoot independently, and the capacity to translate customer requirements into practical technical solutions.
A bachelor's degree is required, and you must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance and have lived in the United States for at least three of the past five years. AWS or DevOps certifications are preferred.
