About this role
Schrödinger is looking for a Senior Manager to lead external reporting and technical accounting for a company transforming drug and materials discovery. You'd own the full cycle of SEC compliance—from coordinating quarterly and annual audits to preparing 10-Qs, 10-Ks, and proxy statements—while researching complex accounting issues, documenting positions on equity and M&A transactions, and ensuring the organization stays current with evolving FASB and SEC guidance. The role bridges accounting expertise with cross-functional collaboration, requiring you to translate intricate technical requirements into workable solutions for Finance leadership, auditors, and the broader business.
This position suits someone with at least six years of SEC reporting experience, ideally from Big 4 audit, who holds or is pursuing a CPA. You'll need strong command of U.S. GAAP, fluency in Excel and accounting ERP systems, and ideally familiarity with Workiva WDesk. Beyond technical chops, the role demands the organizational discipline to juggle hard deadlines, the analytical rigor to solve non-routine problems, and the communication skills to work effectively across teams under pressure.
The base salary ranges from $145,000 to $185,000, with equity, comprehensive health coverage, 401k, commuter benefits, flexible scheduling, and over a month of paid vacation. The position is full-time and in-office in Portland, Oregon.
