About this role
Twist Bioscience's Production Material Planner role sits at the intersection of supply chain logistics and biotech manufacturing. You'll own the daily scheduling and inventory management that keeps production moving—generating build plans, assessing material availability, resolving stock discrepancies, and coordinating with multiple teams to ensure customer orders flow smoothly. The work involves both systems-based planning (ERP platforms, data analysis, reporting) and hands-on warehouse and lab engagement, including time in ISO 13485 clean room environments.
The ideal candidate has at least two years in material planning, inventory control, or manufacturing, with intermediate Excel skills and proven ERP experience (SAP preferred). Biotech or pharma background is valued but not required; what matters more is your ability to manage detail-oriented tasks like clear-to-build assessments, inventory reconciliation, and FEFO compliance while communicating clearly across production, lab, and shipping teams. A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience is required.
This is a full-time, in-office position in Portland, Oregon, with a base salary of $59,600–$72,400, plus eligibility for bonus, equity, and benefits. It's well-suited for someone looking to transition out of lab or warehouse work into a planning and coordination role where systems thinking and cross-functional communication drive impact.
