About this role
Benefits Coordinators Corporation is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join their Pittsburgh office in a volunteer capacity, working on the administrative side of employee benefits administration. You'll focus on data reconciliation—comparing external carrier databases against internal eligibility records to catch and resolve discrepancies, processing carrier file reports, and identifying premium variances between invoices. This is fundamentally detective work: ensuring accurate data flow between BCC and outside sources, then coordinating with internal teams to address what you find.
The role is designed as an entry point into the benefits administration field, with training from experienced professionals in a team-oriented environment. BCC describes itself as a large organization with a small-company feel, and emphasizes career advancement opportunities alongside involvement in workplace projects and social activities. While this is a volunteer position, the company offers a full benefits package from day one, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, PTO, 401(k) with company match, disability coverage, and parental leave.
This would suit someone looking to build foundational accounting or administrative experience in the benefits industry, who values mentorship and a collaborative workplace, and who can commit to an in-office role in Robinson Township.
