About the Job
We’re looking for a motivated Senior Data Engineer (m/f/d) to join our Data & Analytics team and support its data strategies.
In your day-to-day work, you’ll focus on building data-driven applications and get the opportunity to contribute to various projects.
Our Data & Analytics team enables our clients to grow sustainably as they shift from intuitive to objective decision-making through reliable data collection, proper data infrastructure implementation, and effective data initiatives.
We firmly believe that the decade of data has begun: powerful technologies are readily accessible to turn raw data into real insights, products, features and more. We are looking for capable talents from various backgrounds to tag along on our journey to utilise data to create real impact via scalable data ML/AI infrastructure, thorough analyses and meaningful relationships to ensure proper application.
In this role, you’ll:
- Build high-quality data warehouses, cloud infrastructure, AI workflows, etc.
- Integrate data from various systems into flexible and consistent representations
- Explore and evaluate the lasting impact of AI use cases and their implementation
- Ensure that all people and IT systems in the organisation have easy access to data, through various front-ends and interfaces
- Work in an agile software development process and collaborate closely with the analytics, product, and software engineering teams
- Impact the business while working in an amazing cross-functional team environment
Your Profile:
- Genuine interest in data and algorithms, and an excitement for solving difficult business problems through scalable data products
- Knowledge of version control systems, web technologies, software, analytics engineering, and data engineering best practices, and the inner workings of database systems
- 5+ years of hands-on experience building and owning data warehouse and cloud infrastructure in a production environment, with strong command of SQL, Python and dbt
- Experience with machine learning and/or AI is preferred
- The ability to turn data science into something that creates business value is a plus
- Desire to learn new things (we know you can “fly at least one type of plane”, and we will provide you with many types and variations of said plane)
- Good communication skills in German & English (native/full working proficiency)
- A degree in computer science or a comparable qualification

As a Senior Data Engineer here, you'd be building data infrastructure and applications for clients like Trade Republic and Sennder—working across multiple organizations rather than embedding in a single company. Your focus would be on constructing data warehouses and cloud systems, integrating disparate data sources, and ensuring teams across client organizations can actually access and use the data they need. You'd also evaluate how AI and machine learning initiatives perform in practice and contribute to the broader shift these companies are making from gut-feel to data-driven decision-making.
The role demands solid technical foundations: SQL, Python, and dbt proficiency, plus understanding of databases, version control, and software engineering practices.
