About this role
Working as a Receptionist at Gibson Dunn means being the firm's front-facing ambassador in its New York office. You'll greet clients, attorneys, and visitors with the polish and warmth expected at a leading global law firm, while managing the operational backbone of the reception experience—from pre-registering guests and monitoring building security to booking conference rooms and maintaining flexible workspace areas. The role extends well beyond a traditional desk job: you'll coordinate car services, prepare and reset client workspaces between uses, run operational reports, and respond to a steady stream of requests from attorneys and staff, all while maintaining the firm's high standards for professionalism and discretion.
This is a fast-paced, on-site position requiring Monday through Friday attendance from 10 AM to 7 PM, with overtime as needed. Success depends on strong organizational skills, comfort with technology (Microsoft Office 365 and new software), and the ability to juggle multiple priorities while staying detail-oriented. You'll need at least two years of law firm or professional services experience, a high school diploma, and excellent communication skills. A bachelor's degree is preferred but not required if you have relevant experience.
The position offers a salary range of $65,000 to $85,000, along with comprehensive benefits including health care, retirement, paid time off, parental leave, life insurance, and performance-based bonuses.
