About this role
Keeley Construction is seeking an HR Business Partner to join its People Operations team in St. Louis on a hybrid basis. This role sits at the intersection of compliance, employee relations, and operational strategy—you'd serve as the primary HR advisor to leadership on employment practices, benefits, and complex people matters while ensuring the organization stays compliant across federal, state, and local regulations as it expands into new markets. The position demands someone who can both manage day-to-day compliance programs (I-9 verification, FMLA, ADA accommodations, offboarding) and think strategically about systemic improvements, identifying gaps and recommending solutions that strengthen HR practices and scalability.
You'll need at least five years of progressive HR experience with a strong foundation in employment compliance, employee relations, or HR operations, plus demonstrated expertise in FMLA, ADA, leave administration, and benefits compliance. A bachelor's degree in HR, business administration, psychology, or a related field is required; professional HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) is preferred, as is hands-on experience with HRIS platforms like UKG. This role suits someone who is comfortable with regulatory detail and risk mitigation but also energized by partnering with business leaders and contributing to cross-functional initiatives that support organizational growth.
