About this role
Accenture Federal Services is looking for a Full Stack Developer to work on federal government technology initiatives in Washington, DC. This is a full-time, in-office role that combines traditional software engineering with modern AI-assisted development workflows. You'll write and maintain Java Spring Boot backends and Angular frontends while using AI coding assistants like Claude and Amazon Q Developer to accelerate delivery—but with the critical responsibility of validating, securing, and optimizing all generated code before it reaches production. The work spans the full stack: ensuring code meets strict security and AWS cloud architecture standards, managing PostgreSQL databases, debugging integration issues, and preventing low-quality abstractions that AI tools might introduce.
The position requires a Computer Science degree and at least five years of software engineering experience, with specific depth in Java/Spring Boot (4+ years), Angular 17 or higher (4+ years), PostgreSQL (3+ years), and AWS environments. You'll need demonstrated experience working in AI-assisted development workflows and the architectural design skills to effectively guide AI agents. An active Top Secret Clearance is mandatory, as is a commitment to working 100% onsite in Washington, DC. Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile environments would strengthen your candidacy.
The salary range is $91,300 to $184,900 depending on experience and other factors. Accenture Federal Services emphasizes a collaborative culture and professional development opportunities, and is recognized as a Glassdoor Top 100 Best Place to Work.
