About this role

Momentus is building the infrastructure for in-space transportation, and this role puts you at the center of that effort. As an Electrical Avionics Engineer, you'll design and develop flight-critical systems—flight computers, power distribution, sensors, communications, and RF electronics—that operate in the harsh space environment. The work spans the full lifecycle from schematic and PCB layout through test qualification, with hands-on involvement in thermal, vibration, radiation, and EMC testing campaigns.

This position suits someone with 5–8 years of electronics design experience who has worked on space systems and understands the constraints they impose: radiation tolerance, thermal extremes, and mass efficiency. Deep expertise in at least one specialty—whether high-speed digital, power electronics, RF, or mixed-signal design—is essential. Familiarity with Altium, circuit simulation, and embedded software is expected; prior radiation testing and fault-tolerant system design experience are strong advantages. The role is based in San Jose and requires U.S. citizenship or equivalent status due to export control requirements.

The salary range is $140,000–$175,000 annually, with bonus and equity as part of the total package. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), disability and life insurance, flexible PTO, and paid parental leave. This is a fast-paced environment where you'll work alongside experienced aerospace and propulsion engineers on problems that have no standard playbook.
