You'll serve as the day-to-day technical and project partner to an Outside Sales Engineer, taking projects from initial design and equipment selection through estimating, proposals, submittals, ordering, and delivery. You'll learn our manufacturers and product lines, build a strong understanding of commercial HVAC applications, and help customers find the right solution for each project.
This role combines engineering, project coordination, customer interaction, and sales support. Your Outside Sales Engineer and ICS leadership will jointly support and guide your work, performance, compensation, professional development, and career growth, creating clear accountability and a strong partnership across the sales team.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the Outside Sales Engineer assigned to your team to align daily priorities and support commercial HVAC opportunities from initial design and estimating through order, delivery, and project completion.
- Work within a shared management model in which the Outside Sales Engineer provides day-to-day direction, coaching, and feedback while partnering with ICS leadership on performance, compensation, professional development, and long-term career growth.
- Review mechanical plans, specifications, schedules, and other project documents to understand design intent and equipment requirements.
- Select and apply HVAC equipment based on project specifications, performance requirements, customer needs, and manufacturer capabilities.
- Prepare accurate equipment estimates, pricing, quotations, and proposals.
- Identify potential design alternatives and value-engineering opportunities that improve performance, cost, lead time, or overall project value.
- Coordinate equipment selections, pricing, availability, lead times, and technical requirements with manufacturers and internal teams.
- Prepare and coordinate technical submittals, product data, and other project documentation.
- Support customers and the sales team with product applications, technical questions, equipment comparisons, and solution recommendations.
- Communicate regularly with contractors, consulting engineers, manufacturers, and other project stakeholders to keep projects moving and address questions or changes.
- Support technical presentations and customer meetings as needed.
- Assist with order entry and ensure project information is accurate and complete before equipment is released.
- Track multiple projects and sales opportunities simultaneously, maintaining accurate information on pricing, equipment, schedules, and project status.
- Work with manufacturers, operations, logistics, and other ICS teams to help coordinate equipment delivery and resolve project issues.
- Investigate technical or project concerns, identify solutions, and communicate clearly with customers and internal teams through resolution.
- Maintain accurate project, customer, and opportunity information within company systems.
- Continue developing knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, applications, ICS product lines, manufacturers, and industry practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; all engineering disciplines will be considered.
- HVAC, mechanical systems, engineering, estimating, construction, technical sales, or project management experience is preferred but not required.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly.
- Customer-focused approach and the ability to build productive relationships with contractors, engineers, manufacturers, customers, and internal teams.
- Comfortable taking ownership of assignments while working closely with an Outside Sales Engineer and broader project team.

About this role
Integrated Cooling Solutions is seeking an Inside Sales Engineer to work in-office in Tampa as a core member of their commercial HVAC sales operation. You'd partner closely with an assigned Outside Sales Engineer, handling the technical and project management side of opportunities from initial design through delivery. The work spans equipment selection and specification review, estimating and proposal preparation, coordination with manufacturers, technical submittals, and customer communication—essentially serving as the engineering backbone that keeps projects moving forward while your sales partner focuses on client relationships.
The role requires a bachelor's degree in engineering and calls for someone with strong technical aptitude, the ability to read and interpret mechanical plans, and solid analytical skills. Prior experience in HVAC, estimating, construction, or technical sales is preferred but not required; what matters more is your capacity to learn commercial HVAC systems and your comfort managing multiple projects simultaneously while collaborating across contractors, engineers, manufacturers, and internal teams. Familiarity with CAD or HVAC selection software is a bonus.
ICS emphasizes a people-first culture with ongoing training and professional development. You'll have dual accountability—your Outside Sales Engineer provides day-to-day coaching and direction, while ICS leadership supports your longer-term growth, compensation, and career path. This is a full-time, in-office position in Tampa with the potential for statewide project work across ICS's eight Florida offices.
