About Sony Music Entertainment

At Sony Music Entertainment, we fuel the creative journey. We’ve played a pioneering role in music history, from the first-ever music label to the invention of the flat disc record. We’ve nurtured some of music’s most iconic artists and produced some of the most influential recordings of all time.

Today, we work in more than 70 countries, supporting a diverse roster of international superstars, developing and independent artists, and visionary creators. From our position at the intersection of music, entertainment, and technology, we bring imagination and expertise to the newest products and platforms, embrace new business models, employ breakthrough tools, and provide powerful insights that help our artists push creative boundaries and reach new audiences. In everything we do, we’re committed to artistic integrity, transparency, and entrepreneurship.

Sony Music Entertainment is a member of the Sony family of global companies.

Business Solutions partners with our label, marketing, and release planning teams to build the tools and workflows that help them run more effectively. We operate as a trusted internal partner, not an order-taking function. Our work is guided by three principles: Fail Fast: test ideas quickly, and don't let perfection get in the way of progress; Learn Quickly: treat every iteration as a chance to learn, document, and adapt; and Move Forward: keep the work, and the people we support, moving.

This Business Solutions Specialist supports a dedicated portfolio of business units spanning US and international markets, serving as a business-facing, execution-focused role working closely with the Senior Specialist and Architect on larger technical or architectural decisions.

What you'll do:

  • Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for your assigned business units' stakeholders
  • Run requirements-gathering, testing, and feedback sessions with end users and mid-level stakeholders
  • Build and maintain business systems, automations, and workflows
  • Write specs for integrations with internal Sony Music systems, with support from the Senior Specialist/Architect
  • Support data migrations for assigned business units
  • Escalate bigger technical or architectural questions rather than solving solo
  • Identify and develop power users within each business unit who can extend training to their broader team
  • Run basic training sessions and office hours with end users on using AI tools (e.g., Claude Cowork) for their own recurring tasks; gather feedback on adoption
  • Track adoption/usage of the solutions you support and help report on outcomes
  • Follow established governance, privacy, and compliance guardrails when building and deploying solutions; escalate questions to the Senior Specialist/Architect
  • Document your work using established templates and playbooks so patterns can be reused across BUs
  • Coordinate across time zones with the global team members and stakeholders

Who you are:

  • 2-5 years in business/systems analysis, solutions consulting, and hands-on no-code/low-code platform development and administration in an enterprise setting, building with security and governance in mind rather than quick fixes
  • Comfortable running point with business unit stakeholders on day-to-day requirements and testing
  • Solid process-mapping and documentation skills
  • Tool-agnostic and eager to learn new platforms as needed

Nice to Have (not required):

  • Music industry experience; media & entertainment adjacency a plus
  • Hands-on Airtable experience (current core platform)
  • Hands-on A.I. experience using tools such as Claude Cowork, ChatGPT Work, Google Gemini
  • Interest or early experience coaching end users on self-service AI tool use

What we give you:

  • You join an inclusive, collaborative and global community where you have the opportunity to channel your passion every day
  • A modern office environment designed to foster productivity, creativity, and teamwork empowering you to bring your best
  • An attractive and comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life & disability coverage, and 401K + employer matching
  • Voluntary benefits like company-paid identity theft protection and resources for pets, mental health and meditation resources, industry-leading fertility coverage, fully paid leave for childbirth or bonding, fully paid leave for caregivers, programs for loved ones with developmental disabilities and neurodiversity, subsidized back-up child and elder care, and reimbursement for adoption, surrogacy, tuition, and student loans
  • Investment in your professional growth and development enabling you to thrive in our vibrant community.
  • The space to accelerate progress, positively disrupt, and create what happens next
  • Time off for a winter recess

About this role

Sony Music's Business Solutions team is looking for someone to serve as the operational backbone for their internal business units—the person who translates what label, marketing, and release planning teams need into working systems and workflows. You'd own a portfolio of business units across US and international markets, handling everything from gathering requirements and running user testing to building automations, documenting specs for integrations, and supporting data migrations. This is hands-on execution work: you're the day-to-day point of contact for stakeholders, running training sessions on AI tools like Claude, identifying power users who can help scale adoption, and tracking how well your solutions are actually being used.

The role calls for 2-5 years in business analysis or solutions consulting in an enterprise setting, with real experience building and administering no-code or low-code platforms while keeping security and governance in mind. You need strong process-mapping and documentation skills, comfort working directly with business stakeholders, and the flexibility to learn new tools as needed. Hands-on Airtable experience and familiarity with AI tools are valuable; music or media industry background is a plus but not required. You'll work in-office in New York City, escalating bigger technical questions to a Senior Specialist and Architect rather than solving everything solo—this is a collaborative role designed to move fast, learn from each iteration, and keep the organization moving forward.
