About this role

EquipmentShare is looking for a Heavy Equipment Field Technician to diagnose and repair diesel, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems on rental equipment and aerial lifts across their Williston facility. You'll work Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 5 PM, with on-call scheduling available for additional compensation. The role pays $36–$42 per hour based on experience, plus overtime after 40 hours. You'll use EquipmentShare's proprietary T3 platform to pull service data, create work orders, and troubleshoot across hundreds of equipment makes and models—essentially working smarter by having diagnostic information at your fingertips rather than relying on memory or manuals alone.

The job demands hands-on mechanical aptitude, your own tools, and the ability to travel to customer job sites for repairs and maintenance. You'll read schematics, document work accurately, and communicate clearly with customers and team members. While a high school diploma, valid driver's license, and mechanical working knowledge are the baseline requirements, prior experience servicing heavy equipment, diesel systems, or aerial lifts—plus trade certifications—will strengthen your candidacy. EquipmentShare provides year-round OEM training and access to industry-leading diagnostic tools, so there's built-in support for skill development.

Beyond the hourly wage, full-time employees receive medical, dental, and vision coverage from day one, tool and boot reimbursement, generous PTO, a 401(k) match, and a gym stipend. The company also emphasizes culture through monthly family dinners, company events, and 16 hours of paid volunteer time annually. This is a safety-sensitive position requiring a background check and drug screen, and you'll need to be comfortable with physical demands—lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, bending, and stooping regularly.
