About this role

Yuno Energy's Forward Trading department is building out its gas shipping and energy trading operations across Ireland, and this role sits at the intersection of commercial trading and technical development. You'd support senior management in executing and optimizing the company's prompt and forward trading strategies, manage gas nominations and capacity bookings to reduce costs, and execute trades in gas, electricity, and environmental certificates. The work spans trading desk operations, monthly performance reporting, hedging strategy development, and regulatory analysis—all with a focus on maximizing commercial value in the All-Island gas market.

The technical side is substantial. You'll develop and maintain internal systems, data pipelines, and automated processes for trade reconciliation, reporting, and desk workflows using Python, SQL, and Power BI. The role expects strong software engineering fundamentals: Git workflows, testing practices, code review, and the ability to work with time-series data and machine-learning models. This is not a pure trading role; it's a hybrid position that demands both analytical rigor and coding capability.

Yuno welcomes recent graduates with strong analytical foundations or candidates with energy market experience. What matters most is genuine curiosity about gas markets, the ability to work methodically under pressure, and genuine technical depth in Python and SQL. The hybrid position is based in Dublin with potential shift work (reimbursed), and the salary range is €50,000–€70,000 depending on experience. The role offers pension contributions, health insurance, career progression in a growing company, and a collaborative team environment.
